Her Experiences

I was terrified when I first heard there was a stalker on the Colossus. And I couldn't believe it was someone full of pride, Rouge. %s and I decided to find out if the accusation against her was true.
We waited outside all night and finally spotted Rouge acting furtively, hiding under a table before concealing herself behind a flower pot... Following her eyes, we realized she was stalking her close friend Ruby!
%s and I immediately laid hold of her and found many of Ruby's personal belongings on her. Rouge explained that Ruby often lost things at all sorts of places but didn't want to trouble her to help search. She had no choice but to follow Ruby everywhere, so she could pick up the things she dropped and put them back in her bag quietly...
%s was so touched by Rouge that the navigator even shed tears. And then, the navigator asked if I had been doing the same. How could I do that? %s is never that careless anyway... Sigh... Did I say something to Rouge that I shouldn't have said?

Her Story (I)

Hey, why is everyone here having a heart-to-heart talk with you? Never mind. Since Ruby has sent me here, I will tell you a few things.
So what do you want to know? Parents? To be honest, I almost forgot I once had parents. You mean we don't have to talk about parents? Well, I have promised Ruby!
They, I mean my parents, were just two ordinary poor people in Weathering Town. I can't recall how they look, but I remember waking up every night by their quarrel. I will never forget the strange smell of fermented food and tobacco coming off his body. Little by little, it would fill up the tiny shed of mottled moldy walls, dimly lit by a candle. I couldn't understand how this staggering drunkard could have so much strength to beat up his wife and daughter. Don't you find it odd?

Her Story (II)

That emaciated woman's shadow on the wall was my last memory of my mother because I never got to see her again. Every time I was scolded and cursed by that man, I would patch together all the bits and pieces I could remember about her. He called her an evil woman who abandoned her husband and child and left with every penny she could find from the house. He called me an ungrateful bastard who was to grow into a lowly, shameless woman just like her... He would throw bottles at me while yelling abuses at me. See. This scare was from those days.
He described my mother as a wicked woman beyond forgiveness. I knew that was not true, but I couldn't help myself from hating her... Why didn't she take me?
One day, he took me to a man. I heard their bargain, and I understood I was the goods.

Her Story (III)

"You useless brat!" His palm landed on my face like a gale. I realized he couldn't sell this dumb girl. Hmm! Didn't he know why I was mute?
One day, a group of bandits plundered Weathering Town. When they kicked open our door, that man offered me to those monsters to save his own life.
I followed them into a dark warehouse without any resistance. Children were crying in that crowded space, and I calmly sat in a corner. I might die soon in these evil hands, but I finally got away from him... Suddenly, one beam of light shone into the warehouse upon me. I looked up and saw the coolest girl in the world...
She looked at me and said, "Hi. I'm Ruby. What's your name?"

Her Story (IV)

Ruby took a seat next to me and divulged warm stories, breathing new life and color into the dark, cold room. She sensed my burning desire to live and asked whether I would follow her if we could make it out. I nodded without hesitation.
Like a miracle, Ruby's family saved us from the warehouse. But that man suddenly showed up and ordered me to go back with him. Ruby shielded me behind her and said all the words I had always wanted but never said. I saw shock and fear in his eyes and knew I was finally free. Walking behind her, holding her hand, I finally mustered out my first clear word, "Ruby."
After becoming a member of the Rediesel Wrench, I learned that we could laugh, eat, drink and be happy... I even discovered my interest in invention and creation. After all, Ruby wanted to be a great explorer, and a great explorer definitely needed a brilliant technician.
Hey, that's all. Don't forget to tell Ruby that Rouge told you a very good story.
