I grew up in a temple. When I was a child, my parents assumed fiendling possession was the cause of my stunted stature, but that wasn't the case.

The senior disciples up on the mountain didn't really teach me all that much. When given the choice between mastering paper talismans and honing my martial arts, I naturally chose martial arts.

After descending the mountain, I made a living subduing fiendlings for whoever asked. It was around this time I met Ah Ding and taught him not to step on crops with those hot little paws of his, as well as a few other survival tips.
