Her Experiences

When Dantang told me that the Dragon Maiden from the "Dragon Maiden Over Turbulent Seas Dance" really existed and was heading to our Colossus, my brain felt like a trainwreck—broken down and only able to wheeze out a puff of steam! I mean, isn't she a legendary goddess?!
Luckily, %s was there to explain the situation to everyone and introduced Chen'ni to us all. Heh, I know she's basically a goddess, but I really didn't expect this all-powerful divine major fiendling to be a cute little girl with dragon horns. Although Chen'ni is constantly reminding us she's not a child, and that she's actually older than us all and should be watching over us like some wise elder, the way she's always grabbing candy like an innocent little kid makes me wonder—why can't I just treat her like a sweet little cutie-pie? %s was acting all mysterious, asking me to bow to Chen'ni and call her Almighty Benevolent Dragon Divinity. Then Chen'ni would start acting like a true deity and even grant me her draconic blessings... but that's not what I want at all, thank you kindly! I mean, what would I possibly want from a dragon divinity...? All I really want is to stroke Chen'ni's cute little dragon head all day!

Her Story (I)

Take a seat, don't be nervous. The being you see before you today is not a child, nor am I a deity descending upon your fair vessel. You came here specifically for answers, so let me tell you about the past of Longzhou... Oh, you don't want to ask about Longzhou, but... about me? I can see that you don't know—for me to tell you the history of Longzhou is the same as me telling of my past. Alright, let us proceed with the tale without any further ado.
Every aspect of Longzhou, from the smallest insect to the mightiest mountain, is related to the Primordial. Almost every living creature carries the inherited genes of the Primordial. And I am very closely related to the Primordial. Of course, a special major fiendling like me is one of the Primordial's most highly-regarded kin. In the great circle of life, we're higher beings with unfathomably long lifespans. Everything in the mortal realm will eventually go away in the eternal flow of memories. In my eyes, Longzhou's Aurorians, Fiendlings, and even its myriad flora and fauna, are equal in status and significance—they're just at different stages on the path of evolution.

Her Story (II)

I also played my part in the creation of the kingdoms in Longzhou. At that time, I had just been born, and was summoned by the Primordial to nurture a world that was only just beginning to regain some of its long-lost vitality, along with the other fendlings. It was an age of unprecedented harmony between Aurorian and fiendling kind, where the Aurorians worshipped our very images, imitated our appearances, and learned from us many powerful abilities to aid them in the fight against the wicked spirits running rampant at the time. One tribe after another, hailing us as their totems, thrived in that barren land and eventually established their first nation. Their leaders were our tributes, the people our worshippers. A constant flow of power was offered to us to help us fight for them, to the point where we could transform into Aurorian form and walk the world as they did. Ultimately, with the aid of the Primordial, we found a way to work alongside the Aurorian monarch and suppress the great progenitor of Longzhou's wicked spirits... Oh, how I miss that golden age of glory.

Her Story (III)

Unfortunately, the stronger a Fiendling is, the more Lumina it requires to live. Without adequate Lumina, even the most powerful Fiendlings have no choice but to rest constantly, and must hibernate to restore their strength. I'm no different. Just like other Fiendlings of my kind, I love sleeping in the ocean depths, where towering domiciles erected in antiquity still stand tall, serene, and secluded enough for me to sojourn in peace, only occasionally awakening to search for nourishment in the deeps. Dwelling there in the vast ocean, with the freedom to do as I pleased, the only source of discontentment in my existence was loneliness—with no one there to share my days, I had no one to create new memories with, and without realizing it, a thousand years had passed by in this unfortunate cycle of solitude. That's why I decided to venture ashore, enduring the long journey to the surface to walk the land, simply to smell the uniquely fresh air of the world above. If I happened upon a shipwreck along the way, I would charge in and help the unfortunate return safely to port.
I never expected to end up being worshipped for something so elementary. But when I look back on it now, the Primordial took on the form of a dragon, and Longzhou in turn took its name from the native word for a dragon, and as my appearance is clearly of a draconic nature, I guess I really stand out among the major fiendlings. On reflection, I must say, I'm truly blessed to have received such heartfelt respect from the continent's inhabitants.

Her Story (IV)

The remains of certain wicked spirits are almost impossible to eradicate completely. Even after hundreds of years, they just won't seem to rot—give them a thousand years and they still won't disappear. All you can do is bury them deep underground, hoping that they will one day disintegrate when nature sees fit. However, if the evil sealing ritual is not executed carefully, those monsters will slowly gather at the place of burial. The turmoil that has now erupted in the Ji Kingdom is a result of such an occurrence. A long time ago, a similar incident occurred. At that time, the power of the wicked spirits overflowing from deep underground corrupted my people, and it fell upon me to combat it, sealing an undersea cave to suppress their malevolent power.
I hadn't counted on my divine demeanor being witnessed and recorded as I executed my supernatural powers. Word of my deeds spread across the land and eventually complied with my other noteworthy feats, and so I became a legend in the eyes of the common folk—"The Dragon Maiden Over Turbulent Seas. "As a result, a temple was founded in my name, and I enjoyed the newfound title of the Divine Dragon Maiden, with the people endlessly praising my name. In order to fulfill my role as an object of worship, I also had to learn how to make a distinction between the expected behavior of a deity and the behavior of an ordinary person...
And now, this is who I am—Chen'ni, the Divine Dragon Maiden, bound to satisfy the expectations of all who look up to me. Now that I have shared my past with you, perhaps you can see this as an education in the way Astra itself operates and evolves. So, do you believe that the being you see before you today can live up to your expectations?
