Her Experiences

Miss Yao? Oh... How do I describe her... Miss Yao always seems to be full of energy! It's like nothing could ever bother her. Whenever we meet, she's either thinking hard about martial arts or inviting me and %s out for a meal, or for me to accompany her to... What is it again? Oh, I think the phrase she uses is to "uphold justice." Anyway, Miss Yao is a very unique girl.
But sometimes I see her look out the window, deep in thought... This is when she becomes very quiet. Looks like even the lively Miss Yao has her moments of melancholy.

Her Story (I)

Have you ever fallen into the sea? The feeling of going underwater...
You can feel the flow of everything there. There are none of the confusing sounds or chaotic changes that come with vision. Water, there is only water. Even if you close your mouth, water will pour relentlessly through your nostrils and into your brain. The feeling of being wrapped in liquid is horrible and makes it difficult to tell what is actually sliding across your face. Is it snot, tears, or seawater... Or some weird sea creature? Now see that look in your eyes. Come on, don't be afraid. Drowning is certainly a bad experience, after all, seawater is astringent and salty and very unpleasant to drink.
I was later washed ashore, which is a most fortunate thing. And then after that... Two kind people picked me up and brought me home. It's funny, come to think of it. They said that this is the continent of Astra, but all I could think was, "What is Astra? Who am I? Hmph, they must be lying to me!"

Her Story (II)

Nothing melodramatic happened! Those two kind-hearted people really just saw how pitiful I was when I collapsed on the beach, brought me home, and adopted me. I don't remember anything but I do know that my name is Yao. Hmm? What's with that look? Do you feel sorry for me? Don't be. I've never felt that way at all. My adoptive parents are just ordinary guards, but I have a happy life and they've been very kind to me. For example, my mum doesn't like chilies, but she cooks spicy dishes for me every time I come home for a meal... Hmm... They even sent me to the Lin Guild to learn the art of Qi! They said that being a guard is a good position for a girl, or something along those lines.
Yeah, the Lin Guild has really taken good care of me. Mm-hmm, it's an amazing place! The teacher there encouraged me and told me that I have a talent for the art of Qi, as if I already had a foundation... But I can't get complacent! I have to keep practicing hard.

Her Story (III)

The Lin Guild has taught me so much, so I must pay them back with my hard work! "A drop of kindness should be repaid with a spring" as the saying goes. So, I decided to become a guard for the Lin Guild. After all, sometimes the things they transport are quite valuable, and they have to employ people who are skilled in martial arts to make sure the transport goes well.
Since becoming a guard, I've learned more about Umbraton and gained a deeper understanding of it. How should I describe it? Umbraton does have a lot of new things, strange people and a lot of gadgets I've never seen... People can sit cordially in a group and talk about things at the Holiday Cafe during the day, and at night these same people are out on the streets fighting each other in big brawls. I ran over to save some people lying on the side of the road a few times, but they called me nosy and told me to buzz off... Sigh. Anyway, I got into a lot of trouble with the Lin Guild back then because of my impulsiveness. That's why I left that place of my own accord later on. At that time I thought, my personality type is probably not very suitable for life in Umbraton, right?

Her Story (IV)

Hahaha! Did you just call me Warrior Yao? Oh, I do like being called that, sort of. After leaving Umbraton, I traveled the land. Those were the days! Especially that one time.
I had arrived at a little town that was really in a bad state. When I first stepped into that town, the villagers were like walking corpses. A nice guy advised me to leave as soon as I could. After asking why, I found out that there was a pervy silk merchant and a moonshiner causing trouble in the town. Both of them wanted control of the town and hired outlaws to act as their underlings. These guys darkened the atmosphere of the whole place and brought misery to the villagers.
How could I just stand by and watch that happen? Of course, I'd use everything I had at my disposal to deal with them! I observed them carefully and analyzed them, then formulated a battle plan. In the end, I succeed in upsetting all their plans with just a tiny effort, ha!
Ah, but the battle with the outlaws took a lot out of me too... Fortunately, I was able to get rid of those two tyrants in the end and bring peace back to the village!
Want me to tell you exactly what plan I used? I'll tell you later. It's food-o-clock now!
