Unit Analysis by Team BethelFrankel
Class
Hybrid between a Detonator, Converter, and Teleporter. Jack-of-all-trades.
Overall
S-
(S+ at BT3)
Advantages
+At BT3: A strong mixture of damage, teleportation, and reset conversion that makes her a phenominal jack of all trades
+Decent (if unexciting) attack along with her buffed equipment gives her competitive numbers (Active and Chain burst is comparable to Charon if accounting for buffed marks, but before normals)
+Accidentally broke the game in half for like a week because of spaghetti code
Disadvantages
-Resets do not synergize with teleport unless conversion is saved for her teleport turns.
-Like too many other six star units, VERY hungry for BT3 (though a bit less than most, here)
Explanation
Smokey has had a wild journey. She was once one of the worst six star units in the game; then she was absolutely busted; now, she's somewhere in the middle. Pre-buffs, Smokey a bad teleporter and a bad DPS, but Fire was just that desperate. Then they buffed her by letting her deal double damage... only to spaghetti code it so hard it applied to the whole team. As a result, for a few days, she was the best unit, like, ever. We even gave her a separate tier! It was fun.
Anyways, TourDog caught on and promptly patched it, and honestly? She's in a great spot.
Smokey currently plays like a more utility-oriented Gram, with much higher focus on setting up other units but enough damage to justify herself as a main DPS. Her Manticore marks are brutal -- she can now go toe-to-toe with actual detonators (i.e. a burst turn of 100k before normals), which is crazy when you remember that her teleport is practically unrivaled in Fire, barring Lilica.
In this sense, she's almost comparable to Amemori - a slightly underwhelming damage and teleportation package that is far more than the sum of its parts.
