Her Experiences

When I met Lady Joshua for the first time, I was at a loss for words. She was simply and truly... stunning! How stunning? If I must describe it, she's glowing! She always had a smile on her face, radiating a brilliant aura from head to toe, the kind that's so warm, you couldn't help to be near her. I choked on water, and she immediately showed concern, patting me on the back. She spoke with a soft voice reminiscent of a gentle breeze! I heard Lady Joshua is a dead-ringer for the City Lord's deceased wife, so does that mean Carleen and Mia's mother were as gentle as her? I shall mourn for the deceased madam in silence, but whenever I see Lady Joshua, I can't help but think if the City Lord's wife had been alive, she would be as pretty and confident...

Her Story (I)

Does someone think I resemble the deceased wife of the City Lord again? Oh, it's fine, I won't admit it and you must keep that a secret too. But if I'm correct, you've always wanted to know about her, right? Ahem, let's say I am, hypothetically, her.
I was born into a well-educated family in Lower Lumopolis. My father was a scholar and my mother was a teacher, therefore they valued my education. When I was young, I read a variety of history books and learned many schools of philosophy. Although I'm of lowly background to many nobles and no more than a mere commoner, I maintained a lofty aspiration—that is, everyone in the world can live a happy life. Some pessimists contend that if even Lumopolis could not make it happen, how could I hope to spread the seeds of happiness throughout the world? To me, aspiration is a vital driving force behind life. An aspiration that's lofty and unattainable is exactly what makes it great, giving me the courage to scale new heights to reach it. The timid will never move forward, but I refuse to mire in self-doubts.

Her Story (II)

Then, my father was recruited by the Lumopolis Gardens to be the tutor for House Schwartz, so I followed them uptown. Until then, I've only heard their eldest son was a reckless young man but never met him, and my parents were assigned to improve his education. On a sunny day, at my home after borrowing books from the library, I heard a noise by the wall... A white-haired young man in a gold outfit had just climbed over it! It was a rare sight in Lower Lumopolis, much less the Gardens. Surprised and curious, I went over and talked to him. That was the first time I met Daniel.
I wasn't shocked when I learned he was Daniel, the eldest Schwartz child himself. What he did matched the stories I heard. But once I got to know him better, I realized he shared the same aspiration for the world.

Her Story (III)

I helped my parents with Daniel's governance lessons. He was very talented and, when focused, breezed through every course. We then got married, though many thought the romance between a great noble and a common folk was doomed from the start. I also didn't want the relationship to hinder his political future, so I endeavored to keep harmony from the aristocrats down to the civilians, hoping I could be the right hand to Daniel in his administration.
It might sound impressive when people greet me as the City Lord's wife, but as you know, %s, drastic events happened. The Eclipsites' foray brought disaster to the people, and Umbraton was under siege... Veronica was tainted by Eclipsites, and my own conditions got worse, making it hard to care for her.
As for what followed, probably only the deceased lady would know.

Her Story (IV)

What? You don't want to hear the story of City Lord's wife but mine? How greedy of you. All right, given that you have been behaving, here's a fairy tale...
Once upon a time, there was a lone cat so eccentric, she couldn't get along with anyone. Then one day, she met a prince who was every bit as weird as her. The prince fell in love at first sight and make advances until the cat returned the favor. The miracle of love turned the cat into an Aurorian. The couple got married and raised kids in happiness.
However, the miracle came with a cost. Soon enough, tragedy befell the family. When the cat woke up again, there was no one around and she turned back to being a cat.
It turned out in the cat's slumber, everyone went their separate ways and started new lives...
The poor cat probably could never be Aurorian again, but it's okay, because, to her, her family's happiness is her happiness. Thus, she embarked on her own journey with a smile on her face.
