The Rise of Cities

The shadow of war has drifted away in the 1920s. Businesses and investments became the focuses of society once again and, with the expansion of the city, the desire for them grew swiftly.
Steel and concrete covered all available areas, creating a concrete forest inhabited only by humans and pets, taking up the space which once belonged to the trees, animals and stories of the past.
An increasing number of people left the countryside and moved into the city, including some arcanists.
As time passed, the arcanists' changed their meeting place from the wooden houses in the forest to the posh balls of high society.

The city turned out to be a great place for most arcanists. The only issue was that something seemed to be missing ...
For instance, animals.
As well as the stories.

Nomenclature

Hello, thank you for reading my diary!
I would like to share the latest research achievement I have made! Last month, the Nutrient Potion I made was proven to be very effective. Even the weakest maid has gained weight in a short time, but somehow the merchants don't want to promote it. I will keep trying.
...
Although I am not yet completely able to tell the difference between normal and arcanum animals, I have come up with a good way to identify the former quickly!
All the existing books on arcanum animals are use normal animals to describe them. For example, "A Behemoth's body is like that of a hippo." So does that mean we can go the other way around? Like "A hippo's body is like that of a Behemoth"!
I believe this idea can help many friends who have the same problem as me!
...
Anyway, thank you again for reading my diary!
Feel free to ask me if you want to read it again! I will always show you ... even though I don't know who you are going to be!

Dream of Abundance

Pandora Wilson: Hello, I am—
Sotheby: A talking mouth! This table with a mouth must be some kind of arcanum animal. Let me see, you are ...
Pandora Wilson: It's just a table. The talking mouth is my arcane skill.
Sotheby: Alright. Anyway ... amazing arcanum!

Pandora Wilson: Could you introduce "Typhon" to me?
Sotheby: Great, great! I'm glad to hear that question! What would you like to learn first? Shall we start with this pendant? "Ms. Mouth," can you see this cute "Typhon" pendant?
Pandora Wilson: I do see some pendants, but I'm not sure if it's cute or if it's the "Typhon" you talked about.
Sotheby: Yes, it is! There is no doubt that it's cute! My dear lady, don't you think it's cute? Just like your mouth conjured out of the table!
Pandora Wilson: I'm not quite sure if that's a compliment.
