Black Monday

She used to have a warm and sweet family—life was good with a poodle at home, weekend outings and a juicy, steady profit from their stocks.
At the time, everyone in New York was certain that the financial sector had been revitalized, and the economy would boom. Nobody seemed concerned about the rising middle-class income tax, since their income had also increased.

Such confidence and optimism, however, were crushed by the drop of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. But its plunge was only the beginning of a great nosedive in the global market; the economy had slipped into a recession before the commoners realized it.
Overwhelmed by empty wallets and heavy taxes, each day, the family was mired deeper and deeper in the complaints and fights against each other.
The child was the most innocent victim of the misfortune. On the verge of a mental breakdown, she was saved by something long-hidden in her bloodline.

It was like a dream that finally put everyone at ease.
After that, they had a happy family again, despite the unstoppable drop of the stocks.
At least the twins had brought great comfort to the family.
